A little good news yesterday – The housing market was not on the front page of Yahoo Finance! We have typically had multiple stories on the front page daily for over a year, by not being there it is a positive sign!

Of course not everything is rosy, HousingWire reports an increase in defaults in prime mortgages. Mortgage insurers are seeing an increase in defaults today over this time last year which is giving investors more jitters, (keep in mind defaults trail origination by 6 months to a year)  but there are rumors however that the 2008 vintage loans are performing better than the 2007. Hopefully we will see this statistic reported early 2009 or sooner!
